I lost my authenticator
Updated 2 November 2026
If you lost the phone with your authenticator app, sign in with a recovery code, then set two-step sign-in up again on your new phone. If you have no recovery codes left, the Glored team can turn two-step sign-in off, once they have checked that the account is yours.
If you have recovery codes
- Go to Sign in and sign in as usual, with your password or with Google, Discord or Telegram.
- On the code step, choose Lost your phone? Use a recovery code and enter one code.
- Open Sign-in and security and choose Turn off beside Authenticator app.
- Enter your password, if your account has one. Choose Lost your phone? Use a recovery code and enter a second, unused code.
- Choose Turn on and set it up with your new phone. You get 10 new recovery codes.
Each code works once, so this uses two. Without a password, turning it off works within 30 minutes of signing in.
New codes asks for a code from the app, so while the phone is gone, turning two-step sign-in off and on again is how you get new codes. If you have only one code left, sign in with it, then follow the steps below.
If you have no recovery codes
The Glored team can turn two-step sign-in off for your account. Because that removes a protection, they first check that the account is yours, in a way other than the code.
- Get help, writing from the email address on your Glored account. You can do this without signing in.
- Say that you lost your authenticator and your recovery codes, and give your username.
- The team checks that the account is yours before they change anything. We can't say how long that takes.
When it is done:
- Two-step sign-in is off and your old recovery codes no longer work.
- You are signed out on every device.
- You sign in with your password or with Google, Discord or Telegram, then turn two-step sign-in on again.
The team finds your account by its email address, or by its username if it has no email address (some accounts made with Telegram).
The Glored team never asks for your password, a login code or recovery codes. Do not send them to anyone, us included.
Next time
- Keep your recovery codes away from your phone: printed, or in a password manager.
- Before you reset or give away an old phone, turn two-step sign-in off with it, then on again with the new one.
