Selling as a trader or a private person
Updated 2 November 2026
Every seller on Glored says whether they sell as a trader (a business) or as a private person. Buyers see it beside your seller name before they buy, because EU consumer law asks marketplaces to tell them.
Choose the one that fits
| Choice | Choose it when |
|---|---|
| As a trader | You sell as a business, or as part of your trade or profession. Consumer law applies to your sales. |
| As a private person | You sell now and then, not as a business. Buyers are told that EU consumer protection rights do not apply to your sales. |
It is your own declaration, and Glored shows it as you made it. Keep it true: declaring it falsely breaks Glored's rules and consumer law.
What buyers see
- A Trader or Private seller tag beside your seller name: on your seller page, on your listings, and on a product page when your offer is the one chosen.
- For a trader, the line "This seller sells as a business (a trader)."
- For a private seller, the line "This seller sells as a private person. EU consumer protection rights do not apply to a purchase from a private seller."
You need it before you sell
You choose it in your seller application. If your seller workspace shows How you sell: Not said yet, choose Say how you sell. Until you do, you cannot submit a listing or add an offer. Listings and offers that are already live stay live.
Change it
- Open your seller workspace at /sell.
- Under How you sell, choose Change.
- Pick the other choice and choose Save.
The change applies at once and buyers see the new one. It does not need staff review. Every change is kept in your application history.
When ordering opens
Ordering is closed on glored.com today. Once it opens, your choice also changes what a buyer can cancel:
- A buyer from a trader agrees at checkout that delivery starts as soon as their payment is confirmed. Until delivery starts, they can cancel a paid order for a full refund, and you are told not to deliver it.
- A buyer from a private seller can cancel a paid order only once the delivery is late.
The check window, cases and refunds work the same for both.
